CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 03-28-20
Perdido Bay FC Families –
We are approaching the two week mark since we last communicated the temporary shutdown of our soccer operations because of COVID-19 concerns, so we wanted to take a few minutes and give you all a club wide update. This shouldn’t come as any sort of major surprise, but our club’s soccer operations are obviously still on a pause. At the moment, all county athletic facilities continue to be off limits for organized youth sports activities. The School District has pushed the date for kids to potentially return to the classrooms back to April 15th. We expect to learn a lot more in the next 7 to 10 days on what the School District will ultimately be doing and what the County Parks and Rec Dept. may decide about youth sports activities at our complex.
With that said, we will continue to stand down a little longer and please know that at this time we are not cancelling our Spring season, but just delaying activities a little bit longer. Like most of you, we are navigating this on a week to week, day to day, and hour to hour basis. We want you to know that your Board of Directors along with the various Program Directors are all in communication and we are actively discussing how to best modify the Spring season when that time comes. While we remain optimistic about finishing the season, we are also considering all the options and please know that we are actively working on contingency plans in the event we are unable complete this season.
Lastly, we wanted to encourage all of our Perdido Soccer families to stay active and kick the ball around. While we can’t have organized group activities at the soccer complex, there is nothing wrong with moms, dads, and kids spending time together on the soccer fields kicking the ball around and having some fun. We continue to hope and pray that all members of our community stay safe and healthy as we navigate these uncharted waters. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.
